Questions and Answers
Is Hypnosis Sleep?
The largest misconception about hypnosis is that it is sleep. Nothing could be further from the truth. Hypnosis is a relaxed state giving you the ability to fucus on issues in your life with keen awareness. Although you do go into a interspective state as you relax and go inward you are awake and aware of everything around you. That said, sometimes the relaxed state is very deep, especially if you are experiencing insomia or depression that you may want to just allow yourself to experience that feeling of total calmness and peace.
Is it better to see a hypnotherapist, or will a recorded program work better?
All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, but that said it is better to see a quailfied hypnotherapist to get the best results. Self-hypnosis recordings never really take you to the level that a hypnotist can. They tend to be more guided imagery and affirmations.
Are There Any Dangers In Self-Hypnosis?
There are basically no dangers to the practice of self-hypnosis. It is impossible to "get stuck" in self-hypnosis. The worst thing that could possibly happen while a subject is in hypnosis is that she might fall into a natural state of sleep for 20 or 30 minutes. She would awaken rested and out of the state of hypnosis.
Who Can Be Hypnotized?

Can The Hypnotist Control Me?
NO! A hypnotist cannot make you do anything against your will, your mind is always aware and observing. Should a hypnotist make an offensive suggestion; your sense of self would reject the suggestion. You will probably come out of hypnosis if the hypnotist makes an offensive suggestion at the very least say no. Stage hypnotist's start out with a lot of volunteers and weed them out to find the "hams" who what to perform. They actually aren't being made to do anything.... they want to.
Can The Hypnotist Make Me Divulge All Of My Secrets?
You will not divulge any secrets under hypnosis unless you want to do so. A hypnotist does not have any control over a client. Quite the contrary, the client has more control over herself since at this time she has control over her own subconscious mind. The client can easily reject any suggestion the hypnotist makes, no matter how simple or complicated the suggestion might be. The subject can open her eyes, emerge from the state of hypnosis, and walk out of the room at any time she chooses.
Must People Tell The Truth When In Hypnosis?
NO! People can and often do lie when in hypnosis. It doesn't change the story, but you decide what to tell your hypnotherapist.
